Three armed robbery suspects arrested in Ekiti by Amotekun

Operatives of Amotekun Corps in Ekiti State have arrested three suspected armed robbers troubling the Ekiti South West Local Government area of the state.
The Amotekun Communications Officer, Adewale Adeleye, said in a statement on Thursday that the suspects were picked up in their hideout at Ilawe Ekiti on Monday while plotting an armed robbery attack on innocent residents.
Adeleye stated, "On Monday, June 3, 2025, the Amotekun operatives in Ekiti South West Local Government Command succeeded in the apprehension of the three suspects. Upon interrogation by the arresting officers, the trio confessed to alleged involvement in theft, robbery and cultism.
They added that one of them burgled the apartment of one of the Amotekun operatives of the outpost in Ilawe Ekiti and stole the foodstuff (rice), kept in the kitchen apart from other items he had stolen from people after masking up to cover his face.
The three of them confessed that they have been working hand in glove in a dastardly plan to rob people and cart away their property through the counterfeit local pistol and one small local knife which they normally use to intimidate people while on robbery operation."
According to Adeleye, the Amotekun operatives during a search at the residence of the suspects at Oke-Emo Street in llawe Ekiti, recovered one black clay pot laced with charms under the bed.
He stated, "They have since been handed over to the Rapid Response Squad of the Ekiti State Police Command, Ado Ekiti for further investigation and necessary line of action."
