Dealing with a partner who has mood swing.

Mood swing in intimate relations has been a problem since forever and I do get lots of complaints about it. One moment your partner is normal and the next, they shut down and want nothing to do with you. One even said she doesn't know why her man can't understand that it isn't about him. Your mood swing may not be about him but it sure has everything to do with him because he is the one dealing with it.

Some people expect their partner to understand and just welcome them back like nothing happened when they snap out of their mood swing. I've said before that sincere kindness and empathy are the pillars of relationship. If you're prone to mood swing, it is important you let your partner know in the beginning so they can prepare their mind for it or quit if it is better for them.

"I think it is important to inform you that I am prone to mood swing. I know the effect it could have but I promise it has nothing to do with you and I'll be fine after a while. It is okay to leave me alone in that moment till it passes. I've dealt with it for a long time but I will always try to be at my best at that moment. Please bear with me"

Don't just shut down and come back like nothing happened. Their own feelings matter. If you have a partner that is prone to mood swing, you should give them space at that instance. Don't force a communication or relations so their mood does not impact on yours and ruin whatever you share. In my relationships, I talk to my partner daily and I know when she is not in the mood even though I know she wants to talk to me because we love talking to each other. I simply tell her I know she isn't in the mood and she can call back later. Sometimes, we just leave the video call on and continue with our business knowing it feels good to have the other person's presence. If it is in person, enjoy your personal time. She is your baby girl. She will come back.

On both side of the divide, you have to understand your partner and be patient and kind with them. I often talk about "See Finish" because when you know your partner, you understand how to love them. When you admit your imperfections, you carry your partner along so they can understand you and love you right. You can't love whom you don't know.

Be naked with each other, talk to each other, be kind one to another, be patient and above all, be friends. There is so much love in intimate friendships. Remember not to transfer the anger from work problems to your partner, just like you don't transfer the anger from domestic problems to your colleagues. The world is cold but your partner is home and home should always be your peace.

Relationship is hardwork even on the good days. Remember, a life of love will have some thorns but a life without love will have no roses. Build with your partner the kind of love you desire with sincere kindness and empathy
