Australian scientists develop pain-free blood sugar tests for diabetics.



The Australian test uses a non-invasive test strip that checks glucose levels using saliva. The test works by embedding a glucose-detecting enzyme into a transistor, which can then transmit the presence of glucose.

For diabetics, managing their blood sugar levels typically means pricking their fingers multiple times a day with a lancet and then placing a drop of blood on a testing strip. The project secured A $ 4.7 million in funding from the Australian government. Paul Dastoor, Professor of Physics at the University of Newcastle in Australia, who led the team that created it, reported that the technology could also be transferred to COVID-19 testing, allergen, hormone, and cancer testing, RTRS.

PRE DIABETES..

Prediabetes means you have a higher than normal blood sugar level. It's not high enough to be considered type 2 diabetes yet, but without lifestyle changes, adults and children with prediabetes are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes.

Prediabetes doesn't usually have any signs or symptoms.

One possible sign of prediabetes is darkened skin on certain parts of the body. Affected areas can include the neck, armpits, elbows, knees and knuckles.

Prediabetes has similar complications to diabetes mellitus since it an early for of that condition.  Prediabetes affects many different organs and processes in the body, causing a cluster of damaging health effects that domino into other heath conditions

Prediabetes significantly increases the chances of suffering a heart attack or stroke.
✅Atherosclerosis, the accumulation of fatty deposits inside blood vessels that lead to heart attack and stroke, is common among prediabetics.
 
TREATMENT :
Take these steps to treat prediabetes:

✅Eat a healthy  diet  and lose  weight . Losing even 5% to 10% of your weight can make a huge difference.
✅Exercise . Pick something you enjoy, like walking. Try to get at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. You can start with less time and work your way up to a half-hour if you need to. Check with your doctor before you do more than that.
✅Stop smoking .
✅Get your  blood pressure  and cholesterol under control.
