An Average of N580 billion budgeted for February 2023 subsidy alone.....The entire 2023 Budget of Oyo State from January to December is N310 billion. One month Subsidy to be paid for February is almost twice 2 years budget proposal of Oyo State with population of 8 million. Think about THIS.

An average of N580 billion budgeted for March 2023 subsidy alone....The entire cost implication of 2nd Niger Bridge that Nigerian Govt couldn't build for decades until this 8 years of President Buhari was just around N400 billion. One month Subsidy to be paid for March is 50% more than what it took to build 2nd Niger bridge from scratch to finish....Think about THIS.

An Average of N580 billion budgeted for April 2023 subsidy alone....The entire East-West Road that FEC just approved in November 2022 will gulp N506 billion. This is June 2023, East West Road has not gotten N200 billion but April Subsidy already swallowed N580 billion, money way more than enough to start East-West Road from scratch to the end at a goal.

An average of N580 billion budgeted for May 2023 subsidy alone. Anambra 2023 budget proposal is around N259 billion, Kaduna State budget is around N303 billion. Even if they both record 100% budget actualization by December, money Nigeria would have paid for May subsidy alone is more than the Budget of both Kaduna and Anambra put together....Think about THIS.

So, money proposed for subsidy between January-June this year was to gulp N3.6 trillion. Lagos the 6th largest economy in Africa has a budget proposal of N1.7 trillion (A big and daring feat). Yet Subsidy for just 6 month in 2023 is more than Twice the budget of almighty Lagos State for the whole year Think About this.

If subsidy on every litre of Petrol we have been buying was N300, It mean by the time an average Nigerian who could only manage to buy 30 litres in a week was enjoying a subsidy of N9,000, the Super Rich who would use the same Fuel in Nigeria to power his factories across Nigeria, Fleet of cars, His palatial residences, Generators etc in just one week must have bought at least 30,000 litres for all this and enjoyed N9 million subsidy from Govt

Your subsidy for just 6 month this year is bigger than the entire FG budget for Defence Ministry+ Education Ministry+Health Ministry in Nigeria for the whole of 2023.

Meanwhile, no subsidy on Kerosene and Gas that the Poor have been using for years. No subsidy on Diesel that Manufacturing Industries have been using for years.....No subsidy on Charcoal or Cooking woods for the poor.

Should we CONTINUE to fight Subsidy SCAM/Corruption or simply STOP the avenue once and for all? I thought Prevention is better than cure...THINK ABOUT THIS
