Herders abduct two People in Ilero
The Oyo State Commissioner for Police, Johnson Adenola, has appealed to the residents of Ilero community in the Iwajowa Local Government Area of the state for calm following the invasion by suspected herders that led to the death of one person and the abduction of two others.
On Tuesday, multiple sources told PUNCH Metro that the incident, which occurred at the weekend, had thrown the entire community into palpable fear and panic.
A resident, who witnessed the invasion but refused to be identified for security reasons, said, "We have been having sleepless nights for years in this town. The attackers suspected to be Fulani herdsmen had wreaked serious havoc in this town.
"We once again appeal to the state governor, Seyi Makinde, to come to our aid, though the Commissioner of Police, alongside his team, was here (Ilero) on Sunday, and assured us of maximum security.
