100 youths arrested in Effurun Yahoo Training School
SOLDIERS from Battalion Nigerian Army Barracks at the popular Army Estate, Effurun in Uvwie, Delta State have arrested no fewer than 10o youths suspected to be Internet fraudsters as the operatives stormed one HK "Hustle Kingdom" School, a cybercriminal training network school in the metropolis, where intending Internet fraudsters are reportedly trained. The Army Estate is Post highbrow residential Service Housing Estate for retired military officers and civilians in Uvwie, Delta State. PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspects were rounded up following intelligence reports o the discovery of an HK (Yahoo training) School within the premises of the Army Estate. Sources who know about the school told PUNCH Metro that after months of intelligence the reports gathering on activities of the suspects, the military personnel stormed the school and "arrested over one hundred of them in the early hours and late Saturday." Also, the alleged owner of the school and his accomplices wer arrested by the soldiers during the raid, it was further gathered. "The soldiers acted intelligence reports", one of the sources affirmed. Meanwhile, the military authorities at the 3 Battalion Barracks, Nigerian Army Effurun have reportedly handed over the suspects to the police at Ekpan in Uvwie for prosecution after proper profiling. A man jailed six months for stealing N3000 yam Osun aluminium worker jailed six months for stealing yam AN aluminium workman based in Okinni, Osun State, Sunday Ejoh, was on Monday sentenced to six months by a Chief Magistrates' Court sitting in Osogbo, the state capital, for stealing three tubers of yam. Ejoh, who appeared before a magistrate, Mr M. Olatunji, had been arraigned on one count of stealing the yam worth N3,000. Giving the facts of the case, the prosecutor in charge, Mr Jacob Akintunde, said Ejoh on "September 22, 2024, did steal three tubers of yam valued at N3,000 belonging to one Oluwole Durojaye." The prosecutor said the stolen tubers, a cutlass, and a pair of slippers were recovered from the defendant. He added that the offence committed and punishable under Section 390(9) of Criminal Code Cap The artisan, who had no legal representation, however pleaded guilty, saying hunger made him commit the crime. He had told the court, "I was hungry, and I have a farnily." Delivering judgement on the matter, Magistrate Olatunji found the defendant guilty and subsequently sentenced him to six months imprisonment with an option of N25,00o fine.
